Department scoops top awards
Working together brings out the best for this governmental department.
There was much excitement at the Department of Employment and Labour, Port Shepstone Centre when one of their counsellors took the top award for best employment counsellor in the country.

Vuyela Ngojani scooped the national award at a prestigious awards ceremony held in East London recently. The local branch also received a recognition award for the best-performing employment centre in employment counselling at the awards ceremony and came in as the third best-performing employment centre.
Linda Nongena-Sigedle, the manager of the Port Shepstone centre said her entire office works as a team.
“Working together as a team always brings out the best in service delivery. We are extremely proud of Ms Ngojani for scooping the top award in the country. She was also chosen to represent the department and the country at an event in Italy recently. With regards to taking third best performing employment centre, we are certainly more visible in rural areas and assist about 200 people per day at out Port Shepstone office,” she said.
This was not the first and certainly won’t be the last recognition award the local centre has achieved. Last year, employee Phumzile Mjojo was awarded the National Batho Pele Excellence Award for best frontline service delivery employee.
