Mayor meets and greets at festive roadblock
They were also given refreshments in the form of bottled water and soft drinks to keep them refreshed on their journey.
Ray Nkonyeni Municipality mayor, Cynthia Mqwebu, gave a hearty welcome to holidaymakers at her annual friendly ‘roadblock’.
The welcoming team led by the mayor included Ugu South Coast Tourism CEO Phelisa Mangcu, Gagasi FM, Coca-Cola, SAPS members, and law enforcement officials.

Visitors to the South Coast were encouraged to visit the tourism offices and read the local newspaper for an overview on things to do, places to see, where to eat and to check special events planned for the festive season.
All motorists who were stopped at the friendly roadblock received a pamphlet of road safety tips, a municipal newsletter which contains the mayoral festive season message and a list of activities happening along the coast.

The mayor vowed that the municipality would not disappoint this festive season as it was ready to welcome the multitudes of holidaymakers keen to take a well-deserved break after a year of hard work.
