Ten arrested after Harding shoot-out
The armed robbers targeted a supermarket in Harding.
A supermarket in Harding was hit by armed robbers last Sunday morning, leading to an exchange of gunfire with police.
The group of men stormed the supermarket at about 11am, demanding cash at gunpoint.

“When police arrived the robbers opened fire and a shootout ensued,” said police spokesman, Brigadier Jay Naicker.
“Six suspects, aged between 26 and 35 years were arrested, and three firearms and ammunition were seized.
“The men were found in possession of stolen cash and airtime.”
A getaway vehicle was spotted travelling on the R56 Thornville Road towards Camperdown.
The vehicle was intercepted at the Umlaas Road interchange and another four suspects, aged between 26 and 38 years, were arrested.
Police recovered two unlicensed firearms, 16 rounds of ammunition, more cash and stolen airtime vouchers.
All the suspects appeared in the Harding and Camperdown Magistrate’s Courts on Tuesday this week.
The case was postponed for further investigation.
“Criminals should realise by now that we are out in full force this festive season,” said KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula.
“These arrests demonstrate that we are committed to fighting crime in our province and our rapid reaction capability has proven successful whenever it has been tested.”
