Stars and stripes for Margate’s Nancy
The trip was a dream come true for Nancy Govender.
Nancy Govender, general manager of SA Goldrush gaming in Margate, recently enjoyed the holiday of a lifetime – a trip to Las Vegas and the West Coast of the USA.
Having been in the gaming industry for 20 years, Nancy was delighted to experience first-hand the thrills, excitement and glamour of Vegas.

“Las Vegas is magical, mind-blowing and utterly incredible,” she said.
“Downtown Las Vegas and the Vegas Strip have the most fabulous casinos with a vibrant and electrifying atmosphere.”
Vegas is renowned for having the most advanced and innovative gaming technology in the world, which was an absolute ‘must-see’for someone with Nancy’s extensive gaming background.
She also explored Los Angeles, taking in the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame and that enclave of the rich and famous, Beverly Hills.
Further afield her travels took her to stunning Santa Monica, Malibu beach, Universal Studios, Disneyland, San Diego, Murrieta, Southern California and San Francisco which, said Nancy, was one of the finest cities in Northern California.
“Visiting the USA was a life-changing experience. It is such a mix of diverse cultures. People work hard to make a living, but despite their hectic work schedule they still make time to spend with their loved ones and to help each other.
“My visit was an unforgettable one, and created memories that I will cherish forever,” she said.
Nancy added that while she may have lived her dream, her purpose in life was to help people.
“In a world where you can be anything, choose to be kind, be grateful and stay humble.”
