Saps is hiring reservists

Application forms can be collected at your nearest police station or downloaded from the Saps website, where a full list of requirements is also available.

ARE you energetic, intelligent, physically able and mentally fit?

Then you may qualify to be a police reservist, and Saps is recruiting now.

Applicants must:

• Be a South African citizen between the ages of 20 and 50, with identity documents.

• Complete a health questionnaire as determined by the Saps National Commissioner (at your own cost) and have this confirmed by a registered medical practitioner.

 Fit the psychometric profile and complete any other test that may be determined by the Saps National Commissioner.

• Possess at least a Grade 12 Senior Certificate or a National (Vocational) Level 4 Certificate of which there is documentary proof.

• Be able to speak, read and write at least two official languages, of which one must be English.

• Provide proof of residential address.

• Not have any tattoos which will be visible when wearing a uniform or which are irreconcilable with the objectives of the Service.

• Not have a criminal record or pending criminal or departmental cases against them.

Application forms can be collected at your nearest police station or downloaded from https://www.saps.gov.za where a full list of requirements is also available.

“Kindly note that there are specific instructions pertaining to the completion of the application forms which must be adhered to and that the application forms are not for sale,” said Port Shepstone Saps communications officer, Captain Petros Mpinge.
