Lucky kitty
Riaan Nel of Lazer 911 reported that he had seen a small kitten near the Rethman Drive robots last Monday and asked if one of the Tweni Community Cares members could perhaps rescue it. Jean Osborne took to feeding it daily and managed to safely catch it on Wednesday. There was a deceased older cat nearby, which could have been the mother and possibly why the kitten stayed in the area. Happily, the kitten now has a new, safe home. Well done to Riaan and Jean.
Community matters
A huge thank you to Graham McGill for filling some of the potholes in Chakas Road and Mgazi Avenue. There was a definite spike in crime last week across Umtentweni and into Sea Park and Southport, so please remain vigilant at all times. It is a good idea to leave outside lights on at night. Anerley has a new family physician in town. A warm welcome is extended to Dr Chris de Beer.
Birthday wishes this week go to Bevis Fairbrother (January 31), Gail Fletcher, Gaby Frey and Kaye Whitwam (February 1) and Marc Lange on February 3.
All news to Leila.
