Tweni Talk: Don’t miss this meeting

This is a great opportunity for the community to get involved.

Thanks to Liz Foster from Muddy Boots Nursery for being instrumental in getting the fallen tree near Umtentweni Library chopped up on Monday this week. The community sincerely thanks Liz for all the work that she does. And thank you to SAPS, law enforcement officers and security companies, some of whom go above and beyond the call of duty to keep everyone safe and secure.

The usual monthly CPF meeting will take place next Tuesday, February 25 at 5.15pm and refreshments will be served after the meeting, but the Umtentweni CPF AGM planned for February’s meeting has been postponed to March 31. This is to allow nominations of the person who you think or know will be best for the position of chairman, vice-chairman, treasurer and secretary. Please email nominations to Tweniwatch@gmail.com before March 20, including the name and ID number of the nominee.

The Eskom fault on Monday morning created many problems for home industries and people who work from home, bringing production to a standstill. The fault was reported to Eskom and received a different reference number each time. The time limit was supposed to be seven and a half hours, but if power was not restored in four hours, you could phone again. ‘PCW Notice 17.2 Eskom Fault. 88kv line tripped. Main line feeding the coast. Technicians on the way. Thank You’ was the message received.

A snippet from Vivienne Woodhead – Southport Bowling Club’s cricket day held on February 8 was such a great success.

Thank you to all who attended and supported us. Your participation was greatly appreciated and we’re hoping to see you all on the green in the near future.

Special thanks must go to Willie Fourie for sponsoring the spit-braai, ‘Ray-Ray’ the Deejay, who never fails to entertain, Etienne from Homemakers Hardware for the donation, Harbourview Spar and Food Lover’s Market for generous sponsorships in the form of awesome hampers, and club members and non-club members – for all the help and enthusiasm in creating a wonderful, fun-filled day. Thank you one and all.

Birthdays this week are Leon Venter (24th) and Moira King (25th).

All news to Leila.
