Khanya Hospice in desperate need of donations to sustain its free services

Khanya Hospice asks members of the public to please avoid throwing away any unwanted goods, and to rather keep them as donations for hospice after the lockdown.

Many people have been keeping busy during this lockdown period by cleaning out their cupboards and rearranging their furniture. In most cases, a lot of unwanted items are chucked in the trash.

Khanya Hospice asks members of the public to please avoid throwing away any unwanted goods, and to rather keep them as donations for hospice after the lockdown.

“Our three hospice shops are waiting desperately for your donations of clothes, cutlery, crockery, brick-a-brac, linen, furniture, equipment and basically anything else you’re prepared to give away,” said CEO, Neil McDonald.

Hospice offers free palliative nursing care and free support to the families of the patients. It does not receive any government subsidy and is sustained by the money generated by its shops and by other generous donations. Staff is also available to collect donations after the lockdown if you are unable to drop it off.
