Food parcels bring relief to 25 families

The hampers contained essential food items.

Social relief of distress may be as simple as having a meal.

Reverend Doctor Thanda Ncane, chairman of the Ugu Association of Business told the Herald that during this lockdown phase it was becoming increasingly evident that the true challenge for people wouldn’t only be to avoid the coronavirus but also to get enough food to stay alive. “Our target was mostly families headed by the elderly.”

He added that more involvement was needed from the community. “We have seen how people are struggling during this time and we want to bring hope and faith to them.”
