Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma Sabha Mandir provides food to families
Members of the organisation recently donated 43 food hampers to residents of Hibiscus Flats in Marburg.
The introduction of the national lockdown has brought with it a shortage of food in many households. Dozens of non-profit and non-governmental organisations have stepped in to assist the worst affected, including the Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma Sabha Mandir from Port Shepstone.

Members of the organisation recently donated 43 food hampers to residents of Hibiscus Flats in Marburg. “Many people in Port Shepstone with serious health conditions have been observing the strictest self-isolation during the Coronavirus outbreak. Many are stuck indoors and have been struggling to get the food they need to survive,” said chairman of the Mandir, Veena Lakhan.
She added that as the pandemic continued, she and her team would continue providing essentials to the vulnerable, Hibiscus Flats resident Ganas Naidoo was grateful for the assistance, “They’ve dropped off rice, tinned food and other daily essentials which is such a massive help,” he said.
