The association can open for adoptions with immediate effect.

Chairman Scott Kvalsvig said that this week he had received direction from NSPCA that the local branch could start with adoptions.
“We were ecstatic to say the least,” he said.
“We decided to keep our animals at the SPCA with a dedicated team that stayed aboard the ‘Ark’ during lockdown, skippered by Mike Davis and Dalene Erasmus,” he said.
Mr Kvalsvig said it had been worth going through Level 5, with the help of the public, and felt the committee made the right decision.
“If you want to adopt a pet, we had to change the process a little bit to make sure everyone stays healthy,” he said.

You can view the animals that are ready to go home on the SPCA adoption page, or you can visit the SPCA and look through the kennels to see if you find your forever pet.
This must be done by appointment only. Contact Shelly at 083 222 6354. She will guide you through the process.
