Covid-19: Document announcing re-opening of churches is a fake, says KwaZulu-Natal premier
The document titled "Return to the church guidelines from Thursday 21st May" has been doing the rounds and indicates that church gatherings will be allowed from that date.
KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala has noted with serious concern a document purporting to be a guideline for the re-opening of churches during level 4 of the national lockdown.
The document titled “Return to the church guidelines from Thursday 21st May” has been doing the rounds and indicates that church gatherings will be allowed from that date. The premier said he understands that churches are struggling during the national lockdown and have been negatively affected by the cornavirus.

The KZN Provincial Command Council chaired by Premier Zikalala reminds citizens:
“As a country we are still in level 4 of the national lockdown and churches are clearly not operating. Until such time that an announcement on the change of the level is announced by the president, we should treat any speculation as mere speculation. Citizens will be appropriately informed as we move to the next levels.”
