Tourism relief application deadline – May 30

Since the announcement of South Africa being declared a National State of Disaster due to the Covid-19 global crisis, followed by the National Level 5 Lockdown in March, Ugu South Coast Tourism has been reaching out daily to assist as many South Coast businesses as possible, including tourism operators.

“During these calls, we are receiving an influx of enquiries and requests for financial resources and UIF (Unemployment Insurance Fund) documents,” said Vanessa Gounden, Manager: Trade Relations, Ugu South Coast Tourism.

These documents can be download directly.

USCT has set up several points of communication to distribute updated information, including a Covid-19 communication portal via its website –www.visitkznsouthcoast.co.za.

There is a USCT WhatsApp group Alerts via 082 2536330. If you would like to add your number to the group, send an SMS.

The Tourism Relief application deadline is Saturday, May 30.

You can also visit the website www.tourism.gov.za for comprehensive information on the fund terms and qualifying criteria or for other information.

Note, SMMEs can submit funding applications by completing a form accessible online at www.tourism.gov.za/Pages/COVID19tourismrelieffund.aspx as well.
