Selvan heads Umtentweni CPF after ‘virtual’ election
Due to the Covid-19 lockdown a public meeting could not be held.
The Umtentweni Community Policing Forum annual general meeting was due to take place in March this year, but due to the Covid-19 nationwide lockdown a public meeting could not be held.
It was decided to ask members, via WhatsApp, to nominate and vote for committee members online.
The nominations were Selvan Chetty (chairman), Andrew de Witt (vice-chairman), Carol Nash (treasurer) and Dianne Prepok (secretary).
There were no objections to these nominees.
A special AGM was held last week Tuesday (June 23) to ratify the nominations.
It was attended by the committee members, as well as Captain Cecil Kodi (Port Shepstone Saps) and Leila Edwards (Tweni Crime Watch).
Dianne Prepok was thanked for allowing the use of her home as the venue.
