UPDATE: Confirmed Covid-19 cases now stand at 1 207 in Ugu District

There is an increase of 202 confirmed cases of the virus in the district between July 15 and July 17.

As of today, Friday, July 17,  KwaZulu-Natal has 35 174 confirmed Covid-19 cases, according to the Department of Health.

Of these, 24 393 are active with 2 635 new cases confirmed today.

Some 378 people have died from the disease in the province.

The recovery rate is 10 403.

The total number of screenings done is  8 640 711 and 166 083 tests have been conducted.
