Umzumbe mayor’s registration funding assistance is now open
Previously disadvantaged applicants between the ages of 16-35 years will be considered.
Umzumbe Municipality is inviting all prospective students who reside within Umzumbe and who intend to register to study on full time-basis at tertiary institutions to apply for a second semester registration fee assistance for the 2020 academic year.
To qualify, students need to meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen;
- Previously disadvantaged and between the ages of 16-35 years;
- Reside within Umzumbe Municipality;
- Have performed well academically;
- Are registered or intend registering towards undergraduate qualification with any public TVET College or University within the Republic of South Africa.

How to apply:
Complete the application form in full and attach the following supporting documents with your application:
- Recent academic statements of results;
- Certified copies of ID (applicant, parents or guardian’s income (payslip, SASSA letter);
- Proof of residential address (obtainable from a Ward Councilor) and;
- Certified copy of death certificates and/or affidavit in cases where one or both parents of the the applicant are deceased.
Application forms are obtainable at Umzumbe Municipality; Youth Office and Ward Councillors. Applications must be hand delivered to Umzumbe Municipality, P73 Sipofu Road, Mathulini, MPCC, Umthwalume.
