Teenage mother arrested for killing newborn baby in Umzinto Clinic toilets

A pregnant teenager (16) visited the Umzinto Clinic last Friday, August 7 where she gave birth to a baby girl in the toilets.

According to police, the girl then killed the baby by cutting its throat.

A cleaner later found the dead baby after the teenager had left.

The girl was traced and arrested by Umzinto police.

She appeared in court on August 11, and was released on bail.

A case of murder has been opened.
