Man injured after falling off rocks at Margate pier

 Netcare 911 paramedics were called to Lawrence Rocks at Margate pier yesterday morning (October 14).

“Reports from the scene indicated that a man had fallen approximately three metres off the rocks and had sustained moderate injuries, breaking his ankle,” said Netcare 911 Media Liaison Officer, Shawn Herbst.

The patient was treated on scene by an advanced life support paramedic and then carried to safety by Margate lifeguards and Wolf Security.

Once stabilised the patient was transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
