Captain Bob leads the way at Scottburgh GC

The course opened to an American scramble, sponsored by Halfway Toyota.

It’s back to the keyboard as the Low Flyer starts to recover – no, it wasn’t Covid-19 – and thanks to all who sent messages.

The course was treated like a lady recently and underwent spring treatment.

The course opened to an American scramble, sponsored by Halfway Toyota.

So, whilst Trump and Biden were busy slagging one another off for the presidency, the members were busy slogging the ball in the direction of the hole.

Scrambling in for first place with 43 points were the Captain’s team of Bob Hall, Tony Power, Rupert Jones and Rob Milton, who is with us for a few weeks from Limpopo and the farm.

The ‘lighties’ team of Dylan Harris, Nick Bremner. Shaun du Plessis and Lloyd Treherne managed 47 to count out the ‘old man’ Colin Moodie’s team of Geoff Thommasen, Mick Marriot and Gary Jones.

The ladies joined in and narrowly avoided the ignominy of picking up the Stone and left it to Doc Mahabeer, Barry Kisten, Clyde Leisegang and Russel Freeman.

During the week the club appointed Deane Jooste as club manager.

Deane’s better half Corlane is in charge of the clubhouse restaurant. Members wish them much success.

The greens, having been tittivated, are looking in remarkably good shape.

So, with a little precipitation or whatever the weatherman says, we’re going to be in great shape by the end of the month.

In all club sponsored competitions you will now be invited to participate in a grab for R5000, courtesy of Willie Crainie, for a hole-in-one on the 5th hole.

There is a small fee attached to it but it all goes towards club funding.

Mike Eley is hosting a Quiz night on Wednesday (28th).

Flyer’s Footnote: The object of a bunker is not to make the course look attractive and it is not only to punish a physical mistake or lack of control but to punish pride and egotism.
