Margate police are investigating a case of robbery after a 44-year-old man was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash on August 26.
It is believed that the victim, who was in Manaba, was approached by a man who asked for assistance to repair a motorbike.
The victim accompanied the man, and on the P200 near Gamalakhe, he was accosted by a second armed man. He was taken to a nearby bank, where he was instructed to withdraw cash.
KZN police spokesperson Lieutenant Paul Magwaza said the robbers allegedly took the money and the victim’s cellphone before fleeing the scene.
No arrests have been made, and police are investigating.
