Drugs and firearm seized in Bhobhoyi

According to police spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge, the firearm will be subjected to ballistic tests to establish if it had been used in the commission of a crime.

An illegal firearm and a substantial quantity of drugs were recently seized by members of the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit in the Port Shepstone area.

A woman (31) was arrested in Bhobhoyi after she was found in possession of a .45 revolver with four live rounds of ammunition.

The serial number of the firearm had been erased.

According to police spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge, the firearm will be subjected to ballistic tests to establish if it had been used in the commission of a crime.

A man (27) was arrested in Bhobhoyi when he was found in possession of at least 64 capsules of heroin, 12 pieces of rock cocaine and 10 mandrax tablets, with an estimated street value of R4 000.

Both are expected to appear in court on December 15.

A 42-year-old foreign national was arrested at a shopping center in Port Shepstone.

He was found in possession of four plastic wrappings of cocaine, 13 pieces of rock cocaine and three wrappings of crystal meth to the value of R6 000.
