WEATHER WARNING: Severe thunderstorms expected to hit South Coast
The public is urged to take the necessary safety precautions.
KZN MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) Sipho Hlomuka has urged residents across the province to continue to be vigilant as inclement weather conditions are expected to continue.

The South African Weather Service issuing a warning about severe thunderstorms expected to hit large parts of the province including Ugu District.
The warning indicates that the weather conditions could become severe in some places with the risk of strong winds, lightning, localised flooding and hail.
This can cause damage to public infrastructure as well as private property. There is also a possibility of localised fires as a result of lightning strikes and motor vehicle accidents due to the wet weather.
Mr Hlomuka has warned residents to avoid low-lying roads and bridges since these are susceptible to flooding. Those who may find themselves outside during a thunderstorm are urged to seek shelter immediately but not under trees, telephone lines or power lines.
Disaster management teams are on alert across the province and will be closely monitoring all areas that are prone to incidents.
