Taxi driver killed in crash near Amandawe
Eight injured passengers were taken to GJ Crookes Hospital.
A taxi driver (66) was killed and eight passengers injured in an accident at Skodini area in Amandawe on the afternoon of Monday, November 9.
According to police, the taxi was travelling in an easterly direction on the Dududu road when it left the road and landed in a ditch.
The driver was freed by Umdoni Disaster Management, Fire and Rescue but died at the scene.
The injured passengers were treated at the scene before being transported to GJ Crookes Hospital in Scottburgh.
Detective Warrant Officer Salomie Pillay of Scottburgh Detective Service is investigating a case of culpable homicide and reckless and negligent driving.
