Riders ready for new-look sani2c
All Covid-19 protocols will be put in place and contact at registration is expected to be kept to a minimum as most riders will register online.
The much-anticipated annual KAP sani2c mountain bike stage race, postponed from its traditional May staging due to Covid-19, will take a slightly different form this year.
While the Trail event will fall away, cyclists can still look forward to the Adventure event from December 2 to 4 and the Race event from December 3 to 5.
The KAP sani2c takes competitors on 265kms of breathtaking trails between Underberg and Scottburgh over a four-day period.

“We need a 2020 sani2c for the communities along our route who depend on income from the event,” said event founder, farmer Glen Haw.
“We also need it for the riders who are desperate to get out and enjoy the best three days of riding available in the country.”
Several riders have however given this year a miss, choosing instead to postpone their entries to May next year as December is a difficult time for many to get away.
“The experience will be different to the May event in that we are riding in summer and everything will be green, with high temperatures and possibly wet conditions,” explained Glen.

Batches will be smaller and 25 teams per batch will set off each day.
By popular demand, this year there will be a Solo category to accommodate riders whose partners are unable to attend.
“If your mate pulls out at the last minute, you will be able to switch your entry to a solo one if you are not able to find a replacement partner in time,” said Glen.
