Reflect on Mandela and Luthuli’s conversations
The exhibition provides an insight into the lives and mindsets of the two Nobel Peace Prize winners and their involvement in anti-apartheid movements.
The travelling Mandela Luthuli Conversation exhibition is currently on display at the new Port Shepstone Maritime Museum, situated near Kapenta Bay Hotel.
It will run until January 5 next year.
Museum curator, Phumzile Dlamini, is looking forward to the newly built museum fulfilling its potential in time.
“The museum was competed in 2018 so you could say it has only really been active for a year as 2019 has basically been shut down. With this in mind, we would love the community to view the exhibition, free of charge,” she said.
The exhibition was arranged by the Nelson Mandela Museum in Umtata, Eastern Cape.
It seeks to keep alive the memory and legacies of Mandela and Luthuli through their conversations.
The exhibition provides an insight into the lives and mindsets of the two Nobel Peace Prize winners and their involvement in anti-apartheid movements.
It also touches on other stalwarts from all different races who made a great contribution to fight against inequality.
“We also have displays based on the history, beautiful cultural diversity and the landscapes of the South Coast, including archaeological artefacts, maritime heritage and ocean activities,” said Ms Dlamini.
