Pamella takes tourism pageant title
The pageant newbie triumphed over 26 other contestants.
It was a surreal, yet proud moment for Pamella Sengane (20) of Mthwalume when she was crowned Miss Tourism Globe South Africa 2020 in Durban recently.
She took to stage with 26 contestants and described it as a nerve-wracking but exciting experience.
“I had high expectations about taking the crown. It was stressful but I got myself together as I realised winning will result in other opportunities for me,” said Pamella.

She will now represent South Africa at the Queen of the International Tourism Pageant in the Philippines in August 2021.
“The pageant is about youth development and giving back to the community. I donated two full school uniforms to a boy and girl of Bongibizo Primary,” said Pamela.
She has also visited a few local children’s homes, and other schools where she has donated school shoes and sanitary pads.
“I am looking forward to doing more charity work.”
This was Pamella’s first pageant experience, the only other occasion she has taken to stage was modelling for a fashion designer.
She is now looking forward to the international event.
