Film maker pushes limits, needs sponsors

It will be about a a young girl who was attacked by an unknown masked man after a church service one day.

Malangeni resident, Vuyolwethu Mangaliso, is a local radio presenter who is currently dabbling in the arts of film making. “I want to push myself to try new things and this is what I’ve settled on which will push my abilities,” he said.

A script was written several months ago and Vuyo had high hopes of beginning filming in October last year, but due to financial constraints brought about especially by the lockdown, he and his team were unable to cope with the costs of camera booking, transportation, venues for shooting, etc.

Vuyo is in need of sponsors to help bring his movie to life. “We are going to use locals to act in this movie so it will benefit our communities and expose their talents,” he added.

Vuyo is interested in shooting in Malangeni and Pennington to showcase some of the hidden gems the mid-South Coast has to offer. He stated that movie can also be considered educational as it teaches life lessons and can be an eye opener for some.

It will be about a a young girl who was attacked by an unknown masked man after a church service one day. He rapes the girl and disappears.

The man also didn’t see the girl properly because it was late at night. Years later, the two meet and live a happy married life, unaware of the secrets from their past which will soon be revealed.

Anyone interested in sponsoring this film or getting involved can contact Vuyo at 078 0771993.
