Feeling sick? Make yourself a big pot of chicken soup

Chicken soup is not only healthy but is easy and quick to make.

Chicken soup is known as one of the best foods you can eat when you have the flu or a cold.

Why? Because it soothes your symptoms and helps clear congestion when you’re sick.

Chicken soup also makes you feel better because the salt in the soup helps reduce soreness in your throat.

According to www.stack.com – chicken soup contains vitamins A and C, magnesium, phosphorus, gelatin and antioxidants, which are known to build a strong immune system and fight off viruses.

The protein from chicken provides amino acids that are used to build antibodies to fight infection.

The beauty of making chicken soup is that you can add any vegetable to the pot.

One can add lentils, parsley, beans and other herbs, such as rosemary and thyme.

Heat and simmer, uncovered, until the chicken meat falls off of the bones.

Take out all the bones and break up chicken into finer and easier to eat pieces.

Mix, add salt and pepper if needs be and serve.
