Free quarantine and isolation site for Ugu District

The facility allows patients to be quarantined or isolated for a period of 10 days and is free of charge.

In response to an increased number of Covid-19 infections, the Ugu Health District has made a quarantine and isolation site available for the community.

People are encouraged to make use of this site as it is currently being under utilised.

The facility allows patients to be quarantined or isolated for a period of 10 days and is free of charge.

The facility is located in Margate.

The contact person is Nonduduzo Ndlovu (066 492 2377).

To be admitted for quarantine you must be:

1. A person awaiting Covid-19 test results who is unable to quarantine at home.

2. With mild to no symptoms not requiring medical care.

3. Close contacts of a confirmed Covid-19 patient awaiting results.

A close contact is a person you have been in contact with, without a mask for more than 15 minutes.

To be admitted for isolation you must be:

1. A person with positive Covid-19 test results who is unable to isolate at home.

2. With mild to no symptoms not requiring medical care.

This is for stable clients, if the client becomes ill whilst in this facility the client is referred to the appropriate level of care (Hospital or CHC).

If you need to isolate or quarantine, please ask your healthcare worker to phone Mrs Ndlovu to book a bed.
