Small fishing boat washes up, no sign of owner
The search for the owner of the boat continues today.
Emergency services sprang into action late yesterday afternoon when receiving a reports of a capsized boat or fishing vessel on the Mzimkhulu River in Port Shepstone.
The well-made homemade boat (or canoe), belonging to an unknown local fisherman, was found near the northern bank of the river mouth.

Glen Preston of Med-Evac said paramedics searched the river and shoreline, together with Port Shepstone K9 Search and Rescue, NSRI Shelly Beach and Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Fire and Rescue.
They found nothing.
“There was clothes inside the boat but no fishing tackle,” he said
Mr Preston said it is hoped that, with the strong current, the boat had perhaps broken free and drifted downriver.
The search continues today.
