Excitement mounts as hall construction begins

The area has never had its own hall before, and residents thanked the municipality for commencing with a project that would soon make this possible.

Umdoni Municipality’s week of sod turning ceremonies came to an end on Friday, January 22 with the last few days focusing on sports grounds and community hall projects.

Mayor Sibongile Khathi said the Mbungulu community in Ward 6 can look forward to its first community hall, which is expected to accommodate 350 people, and be completed within a period of six months.

The area has never had its own hall before, and residents thanked the municipality for commencing with a project that would soon make this possible.

Locals stated that the hall will be used as a meeting place where people’s needs will be addressed.

Projects will also focus on the the Pat Cele Community Hall in Ward 2, Kwalembe sports ground in Ward 1 and Bhadane sports ground in Ward 4.
