Trash-a-haulics take it to next level

This month they managed to raise R580 for the Lower South Coast SPCA, bringing the total already raised by the Trash-a-haulics to over R5300.

Two South Coast brothers, who call themselves the Trash-a-haulics, are making positive change, not only by helping the environment by recycling, but also by donating to a local crèche and the SPCA.

While most teenagers are enjoying the summer school holidays, Dru (15) and Ty (13) de Bruyn were seen either helping their mother Kym Pollard at her dive centre, or recycling.

This month they managed to raise R580 for the Lower South Coast SPCA, bringing the total already raised by the Trash-a-haulics to over R5300.

They also managed to donate another 70 eco-bricks to Osidisweni Gcilima Community Crèche.

“We are recycling beverage cans, food cans and scrap metal. We are also collecting plastic, glass, cardboard and paper to recycle. One third is donated to the SPCA and we keep a third each for our pocket money. We also make eco-bricks and donate them to the crèche,” said Dru.

They thanked the restaurants and business which have gone out of their way to supply them with cans and recyclables.

They can be contacted at 082 8773966.
