A man involved in a crash on the N2 near Umzumbe died in hospital on Tuesday.
Glen Preston of Med-Evac said they received a call at about 2.30pm that afternoon informing them a single vehicle had overturned, and that the driver had been ejected with severe head and chest injuries.

Paramedic Tanya Grobler of Netcare 911 initiated treatment and activated a helicopter to transport to Netcare St Anne’s Hospital in Pietermaritzburg.
Mr Preston said he arrived to assist Ms Grobler and placed the driver on a ventilator and prepared him for the flight.
“Unfortunately the patient died at St Anne’s shortly after arrival,” he said.
