The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) has noted with concern the scam that is doing rounds targeting the vulnerable people seeking employment within the directorate.

Police spokesman, Colonel Katlego Mogale said the recruitment office of the Hawks has received numerous telephone calls indicating that such is a follow up to their previous communication with ‘Colonel Monyela’ who requested them to forward their CV and qualifications.

“We therefore wish to highlight that the official advertisements would only be reflected on the newspapers and the website of the South African Police Service as well the government circulars with a due date,” he said.

No members in the recruitment office or the entire directorate shall ever phone any person requesting them to apply for any available jobs within the DPCI in exchange for money.

Col Mogale said they therefore warn the public to be vigilant and guard against fraudsters attempting to rob them of their money.
