Missing Tessa Roodt (32) and her five-year-old daughter Crystal were found yesterday (Monday, March 29) afternoon in Margate.
The search for the mother and child began last Tuesday, March 23 when they went missing while staying with family in Hibberdene.
Florien Deysel from Queen Red Ant/Without a Trace Foundation was the national co-coordinator of this massive operation.
She received a phone call from an informer yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) which lead the search team to the location of the missing mother and daughter, in Margate.
Tessa Roodt has been found.
“Both were then taken to a nearby hospital where they will be examined and receive the necessary treatment and assistance. The baby has not been born yet,” she confirmed.
The team of South Africa Community Crime Watch Missing Persons (SACCW), in co-operation with Queen Red Ant For Missing Persons, as well as Crime Police Forum members and other organisations worked around the clock to locate the missing mother and daughter.

A missing report has been circulated in the hopes of finding Tessa Louise Roodt (32) and her five-year-old daughter, who are feared missing.
According to South Africa Community Crime Watch (SACCW), which has circulated a flyer on social media in an attempt to locate her whereabouts, Tessa was last seen leaving her mother’s residence in Hibberdene yesterday (March 22) at midday.
The woman and her child were spotted on the N2 earlier today.
She didn’t indicate where she was going, and took her daughter with her. She has not been heard or seen of since. SACCW reported that she was last seen wearing a blue shirt with black and white striped shorts. Tessa is in the last trimester of her pregnancy and the baby is due any day now. According to SACCW it is possible that she is trying to travel to Rustenburg to stay with her father. A case has been opened at Hibberdene police station.
