Exploring Paradise: South Coast launches new What’s On website

You will be amazed at all that the South Coast has on offer.

A warm welcome to our visitors who have travelled from across South Africa to spend time in our palm-fringed paradise.

To our local readers who have stayed home this long weekend, we would like to encourage you to become tourists in your own town – it’s time for you to also relax and enjoy the many exciting things that the Southern Explorer has to offer.

There’s always time for a laid-back river cruise.

For those of you who did not know, the R3-million’s worth of road signage leads you to one of the nine Southern Explorer routes which are segmented into nine tours, starting with Tour 1 in Umkomaas and ending with Tour 9 at The Wild Coast Sun.

You can start the morning early in Tour 8 with a beach horse ride, a visit to two incredible motor museums, stop off for a game of adventure golf, learn to surf, get close to nature at the intriguing butterfly dome, hone in on your archery skills, do some bird watching at the riverside, or relax on the beach while a private chef prepares you a platter of simmering garlic prawns and freshly caught fish.

East Coast Classics has a wide variety of interesting vehicles on display.

Then, moving on to Tour 9 you can visit the world’s smallest desert, enjoy a cocktail river cruise, search for fossils with a heritage guided tour, go quad biking in the wild, stop in for a high tea experience, enjoy Segway Tours, water parks, nature reserve hikes, ten pin bowling, kayaking, pedal boats, stop off at a fresh farm stall, you can paddle cart, taste the best coffee in Africa after hiking or biking through a coffee plantation – it just never stops, and we’ve only just gotten started.

Delicacies to delight discerning palates.
