With crime being a constant problem faced by local communities on a regular basis, the Pennington Community Watch group, together with security companies and police, will be hosting an informative crime and security event at Relton Hall in Pennington on April 24 from 9am to 3pm.
The event is open to the public at no cost.
The day will kick off with the community watch group’s annual general meeting from 9am to 11am. Thereafter, the crime and security presentations will commence.
People will be educated on how to protect their families and homes from break ins and robberies, how to make the community safer, when criminals are most likely to strike, precautionary measures to put in place to prevent home invasions and more.
This event will give the public an opportunity to understand what the Pennington Community Watch group actually does and how they assist the community, as well as allow people to potentially become members of the group.
For those interested, security hardware such as stun guns, lasers, pepper spray and several other times will be on display and sale too.
Refreshments and boerewors rolls will also be sold during the course of the day.
