WATCH: Car catches fire at Ramsgate petrol station
Quick thinking from the owner and petrol attendant prevented what could have been a far worse scenario.
A vehicle caught fire at the BP Garage in Marine Drive, Ramsgate at about 3pm this afternoon. Glen Preston of Med-Evac confirmed that there had been no injuries.
Judging by reports from bystanders, it seems the cause of the fire may have been a wiring issue. The vehicle was an old model Mercedes-Benz.

“The owner and a petrol attendant pushed the car away from the pumps and hit the emergency shut off for the fuel,” said Mr Preston. “Smoke was observed coming from behind the dash and then it just went up like a barn fire.”
