Mandrax bust at Sheppy rank

The suspect was formally charged with possession of drugs.

Port Shepstone Crime Prevention members received information about a man selling drugs at the Port Shepstone taxi rank, last Wednesday (April 28).

After observation in the area, the man was identified.

On searching him, police discovered 79 Mandrax tablets with a street value of R3950 and cash in his possession.

He was arrested and detained in the Port Shepstone police cells.

The suspect (25) appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court the day after his arrest.

He was remanded in police custody and reappeared in court on Tuesday this week.

The suspect was formally charged with possession of drugs.

His bail application will be heard, once his address is verified.
