Emergency landing for light aircraft near Port Shepstone

The pilot was able to land the plane safely on a gravel road.

Engine failure forced a pilot and his two passengers to make an emergency landing in KwaDweshula, some 40 kilometres inland of Port Shepstone, yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.

Glen Preston of Med-Evac confirmed that nobody was injured, and the pilot landed on a gravel road.

Members from Port Shepstone K9 Search and Rescue and Med-Evac responded.

“The light aircraft was en route from Port Elizabeth to Pietermaritzburg,” added Mr Preston.
