Port Shepstone Regional Hospital management held a retirement prayer for two long serving nurses – operational manager for the eye clinic, Cathy Keppler and operational manager for night control, Nontsikelelo Yeni on April 30.
Sister Yeni has contributed 31 years to nursing. Hospital CEO, Bawinile Ndlovu applauded Sr Yeni for having adapted to the role of night control manager and commended her attributes in line with her ability to successfully manage the operation of the hospital at night.
As operational manager for the eye clinic, Sr Keppler provided a wide range of eye care services.
Prior to that, she headed the female surgical ward and in total, she boasts 24 years of nursing service.
“I look forward to settling down with my husband for a month and then we will involve ourselves in community services and church projects,” said Sr Keppler.
The nursing management, led by Mandisa Maqutu gave the two retirees white candles symbolising the light they will bring to their families and communities.
Furthermore, the human resources manager, Mxolisi Zulu gave them certificates of appreciation for their years of service.
The hospital management congratulated the two retirees and expressed their deep sense of gratitude for their commitment and dedication throughout their years of service.
The retirees expressed their joy and gratitude to God for
surviving the Covid-19 pandemic and for being with them throughout their careers and hoping that He would give them many good years with their families.
