Certain members and support personnel from Port Shepstone Saps opened their hearts and reached out to Amanda Adams (20) from the Western Cape who was recently stranded on the South Coast.
A relative brought her to Betania and abandoned her after which the landlord then brought her to Port Shepstone Saps.
Police spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge said they were able to place her in the temporary care of the Department of Social Welfare while they rallied around, organising a bus ticket home and some clothing and toiletries.
