Special needs school grateful for donations
Mayor councillor Sibongile Khathi together with other municipal staff, delivered items such as detergents, cleaning equipment, storage bins, ironing boards and blankets to the hostel.
Umdoni Municipality had a special donation handing over ceremony for Umzinto based school Schola Amoris last week.

The school, which strives for the upliftment and development of its pupils who are intellectually challenged, is in the process of opening up a hostel for pupils and with the municipality’s help, received several goods needed to prepare the facility before the opening.

Mayor councillor Sibongile Khathi together with other municipal staff, delivered items such as detergents, cleaning equipment, storage bins, ironing boards and blankets to the hostel.
To thank mayor Khathi and the municipality for this rather generous donation, school pupils performed dance items for everyone present at the hand over and Schola Amoris educators celebrated in song.

At the end of the ceremony, a tour of the school’s hostel was done and the mayor was informed that it is expected to accommodate 200 pupils once officially opened.
