Firearm recovered in Marburg

A 3.7 Magnum Revolver with 45 rounds of ammunition was recovered.

Port Shepstone Tactical Response Team and Margate Crime Intelligence followed up on information received about a man in possession of an unlicensed firearm in the Marburg area last Thursday.

According to police spokesman, Captain Petros Mpinge, the identified premises was searched and resulted in the recovery of a 3.7 Magnum Revolver with 45 rounds of ammunition.

“A 28-year-old man was immediately placed under arrest. He was charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition,” added Captain Mpinge.

The suspect was granted bail and will appear in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court again on August 9.
