Homes sees an increase in abandoned babies
In the past two weeks alone, the home has received four new babies, with two of them being newborns.
Genesis Hope SA has seen a rise in the number of babies that are being abandoned in Port Shepstone and the surrounding communities .
Genesis El Roi Baby Home is based in Port Shepstone and is a safe place for babies and toddlers who have been neglected, abused or abandoned.
In the past two weeks alone, the home has received four new babies, with two of them being newborns.
This little girl, pictured here, is not quite three weeks, weighing only 1,7kg at birth. She is now safe, in the care of the Genesis El Roi staff and will be loved and protected.
The home currently loves and looks after 12 babies, with the space to receive up to eight more children. However, funding for extra care staff is currently not available.
