Former Umzinto local launches sixth book
The launch for Fighting For My Family was well attended by Govender's friends and family as well as fellow local authors.
Krish Govender, a former Umzinto resident and ex-Roseville Secondary School student has officially launched his sixth book, Fighting For My Family. The book was launched at the Heritage Durban Book Fair held over the long weekend. “This book is the exciting conclusion of the Finding My Family trilogy,” said Govender.
Finding My Family is an original South African story and is the first of Govender’s books. The second book is titled Losing My Family.
This third and final book in the trilogy covers a dramatic tale of one woman’s fight to protect her family against insurmountable opposition and fear.
“The book is an endearing story of a mother’s tenacity to life and her will to survive despite every reason to give up,” he said.
“She is driven by the sole purpose of saving her children, and she embarks on a journey to face her biggest threat – a threat so great that it could destroy her and everyone she loves.”
Govender says that this story will leave readers cheering for the heroine long after the last page is turned.
The launch for Fighting For My Family was well attended by Govender’s friends and family as well as fellow local authors.
During last year’s lockdown to keep busy, he added to his book collection and wrote an anthology of short stories called South African Short Stories For Young Readers which was also received well.
Besides being an author, Govender is an entrepreneur and is also a qualified educator in mathematics and computer science.
He informs his readers to watch this space because he is planning something special for his South Coast readers soon.
