Fifty years of art and still going strong

Art by the Sea was instrumental in establishing the Margate Art Museum, the biggest facility of its kind in KwaZulu-Natal.

Local art group, ‘Art by the Sea’ celebrates 50 years of art on the South Coast this year.

As such, the group has become a pillar within the South Coast’s art community.

To commemorate the humble beginnings of this group, Art by the Sea chairman, Johann du Toit along with vice chairman, Marianna Radley were assisted by fellow artists to paint and decorate the exterior walls of the Margate Art Museum with jubilant and colourful murals.

The highly acclaimed annual exhibition of Art by the Sea will be staged on October 28 and will run throughout the holiday season.
