Murder accused jailed for a decade

On February 21 this year, Ayanda Wonderboy Jaca (33) was found near a petrol station with stab wounds.

Top work by Sergeant Siyabonga Gasa from the Harding detective branch has secured another successful conviction.

Lindokuhle Mbewana (30) was last month found guilty of murder, sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment, and declared unfit to possess a firearm.

The magistrate was Bryan Munilall.

On February 21 this year, Ayanda Wonderboy Jaca (33) was found near a petrol station with stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital where he died on arrival.

Gasa was tasked with investigating the matter. Within a day after receiving the murder docket, he and Sgt Nkululeko Gumede arrested Mbewana.

On February 25, Mbewana appeared at Harding Magistrate’s Court for his first appearance and the matter was then transferred to Izingolweni Regional Court for trial.

As a result of the matter being well investigated by Gasa, it was transferred to regional court immediately.
