Catching breamers and fishing for hope

Meanwhile the Fish For Hope foundation is proud to announce the Fishing for Akshay competition

Kieron Naidoo kept the momentum going for South Coast fisherman when he reeled in a bronze bream (breamer) off Southbroom shores recently.

With an incoming tide coming in at around 15:00 and under overcast conditions, the catch became all the more trickier.

Using a cracker as bait attached to his Poseidon hmg ultra-light rod paired with a Bg 20 Saltist and a 20lb Maxima, it was not long before Kieron reeled the fish in.

Meanwhile the Fish For Hope foundation is proud to announce the Fishing for Akshay competition set to take place from Stiebel Rocks to Pumula boat launch site on Saturday, February 19 from 07:00 to 12:00.

Entry for adults will be set at R100 and R50 for children under the age of 18.

The initiative seeks to raise funds for Akshay Maharaj who is a friend, fellow fisherman and a well known member of the community who needs cancer treatment.
