Tuning in: Don’t forget to book your May Fair stand

May Fair is going to be such an exciting day.

The last paper for February! Already! Well done for surviving the heat! It has certainly been overwhelming.

Just a chuckle – a Facebook post from Henry Parsons (ex-headmaster Scottburgh High School – now living abroad): “Our grey bin has gone AWOL. We live at 15 Summerside Gardens. Suspect Dudley or Eunice may have aided our grey bin’s escape but we are missing it terribly. Would appreciate any assistance enabling us to reunite!” We thought it only happened in Africa!

May Fair is going to be such an exciting day. There are already 20 stand bookings. The organisers are promising a Boxer dog show as well as fun arena events for everyone.

You’ll be able to have a go at croquet, or even roll a bowling ball. Kiddies will be well catered for, and paintball target shooting should attract the bigger kids. We are hoping for surrounding schools to participate.

Diarise the date, Sunday, May 1 at the driving range, Pennington. Stand spaces R120 (approximately 4x4m). Traders will park next to their tables/gazebos, etc., so it’ll be easy to set up your stock. Reserve your space by emailing heathton@gmail.com.

I know that the community will join me in sending loving thoughts and prayers to family, friends, business associates and everyone in the Umdoni area on the death of Justin Thiel. Heartfelt condolences to Justin’s wife, Pam and son and daughter Greg and Janet and their families.

Grateful thanks to the construction company for the work done on fixing Coral Drive.

A fundraiser is being held for Shaninlea Visser at Umdoni Park Golf Club on Sunday, March 27. Cost is R250 per person. Contact 039 9751615 for tee off times.

Pennington Conservancy advises that they would like to use the Beach Café for more community events, so community members are asked to contact the Beach Café to discuss requirements for clubs and groups. An art exhibition would be a great idea.
